Socialisation Skills
Teaching Social Skills

All dogs need to develop Social Skills because without them, Behavioural Problems start to develop.  Puppies start to learn these skills from day one but can easily forget them when removed from their litter mates and Mother and when 'real life' begins in their new home.  Afterall, puppies are dogs, not humans.  It becomes very easy through no fault of our own, to inadvertantly 'teach' a dog a 'bad habit'.  By bringing together a well balanced group of dogs in a controlled enviroment such as a training class or on a walk, we allow dogs to be dogs, to develop their Canine Body Language through the presence of others and to 'let off' steam.  It is also great fun for us, as the owners, to see all the dogs interacting and enjoying themselves. Their body language is quite fascinating.  Contact me to book your place on our ever popular Socialisation Walks.

So How can that help you?

Let's face it, owning a dog can be both a joy and a pain.  It's like a pendulam, going from sheer happiness and love to total frustration.  But, there are lots of ways to help get the best from this 'unique' relationship starting from basic dog training and socialisation skills through to Behavioural problem solving.  We can cover every aspect of dog ownership in a friendly and supportive manner so that you are never left feeling you are alone.  All ages and breeds of dog are welcome to join.

Our Aim

Is simple, to give owners their dog back!  Then we show you how to enjoy each others company with lots of fun things to do.

My dog's fine but I would love to just come along and join in

That's no problem, just call me and we can arrange for you to join the group after an initial assessment.  Dogs, just like us, love company so there's no reason to miss out on all the fun, for both you and your dog.  I do not believe in the 'Dominance Theory Myth' and so the training on offer is designed on a more practical, commonsense approach and on a day to day basis - for example, getting your dog to come back in from the garden is just as important as getting him back in from the park, especially when you have to get somewhere afterwards.  Taking your dog in the car or going to the Vet or Groomer are all practical exercises we can cover in the group or individually if you prefer.  We also provide safe areas for dogs to run and exercise off lead with weather being no problem, afterall, we all have coats the same as dogs do. These events are always fully supervised by myself and Helen with lot's of helpful advice available.

Does your dog have a problem?

Your dog develops a behaviour that is not acceptable and so you think you'll 'sort it out' but you don't really know how.  You then try various things, read books or watch TV programmes and yet nothing works.  By the time you realise you need help, it is often going to be a long process to put right.  Please, please, please contact us as soon as possible for an assessment and practical advice.

The following list is not exhaustive.

Aggression problems - I specialise in this area and am not afraid to help dogs with these problems - remember, an aggressive dog is an unhappy dog and this problem can usually be addressed.

Fearful Dog - just as unhappy and needs your help - let me show you how.

New Puppy - puppies go through seven stages of development and so it is important to understand these stages.  I can show you how to help your young dog grow into a wonderful member of your family. We encourage puppies to start as soon as they have had their second injection.

Young Teenage Dog - hormones everywhere and who seem to have forgotten everything you have taught them.  Let me show you how to 'cope' with having a 'teenager' in the house.

New Rescue Dog - Rescue dogs have their own problems so come and learn more about your new dog and how to best help them settle in their new home.  How will they cope with other dogs?  Will they come back when you let them off? How will they react with your other pets, family, visitors?  Call now and we can help prevent the problems escalating and give you the confidence to train your dog properly.

1-2-1 help - then contact us and book some lessons now - you can be assured of a warm welcome.

Seen it all on Television but it doesn't seem to be working? -  Courses available to see how you can control your dog and have fun too.

No where to let your dogs run free? Then contact us and we can help - we have secure and fully supervised walks  to exercise your dog.

Cost Effective Training - tailored to your dog's needs. - all training tailored specifically to each dog and to help you ease the situation and feel back in control.
